I just watched the Netflix movie version of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, for the first time. Okay maybe it was the third time...... Since I absolutely loved it I had to do something to curb my need for a fix. I decided to read the book and I am glad that I did. I really enjoyed Lara Jean and her quirkiness, her inner monologues, her relationship with her family, and also Peter. Sigh Peter. However, even though I loved it there were some things that rubbed me the wrong way. I was not keen on the fact that Peter and Gen still were connected so much in the book. It definitely seemed to be more than the movie. However, I think that the things that irked me were really due to the immaturity of their ages, which is something that rang true. I am going to go rewatch the movie now.

Margot kinda pissed me off sometimes....and Lara Jean is very very naive...and peter is more an ass that in the movie...maybe i actually like the movie better for once?!

This was one of the rare stories where I saw the movie before reading the book. I loved the movie and so of course... I loved the book. Jenny Han brings you in quick with the unique characters who are quirky, yet normal enough to be convincing. And then the story simply unfolds. I laughed out loud a lot, experienced secondhand embarrassment and also felt the deep family ties. I highly recommend this book (possibly the series) to anyone looking for a light-hearted rom-com read.

Książka sama w sobie podobała mi się. Przyjemni bohaterowie, lekka fabuła, bardzo szybko mi się czytało, mimo narracji w czasie teraźniejszym do czego nie jestem przyzwyczajona. Mam nadzieję, że kolejna część mnie nie zawiedzie.
