What a beautiful story! It’s heartbreaking, especially in the beginning. I had to check she was okay before continuing. Listening to her tell the story, you can hear the sadness and stress in her voice.
As you go, sadness turns into shy optimism, gratitude, and acceptance. Walking has such healing effects and this book is a testament of that.
The story was also filled with interesting facts about homelessness and the wilderness, which add depth and breadth to the story and help see the big picture and the issues that touch us collectively.
I definitely recommend reading… or maybe listening while walking.
