I love the style and craft of the art, and the characters and story hold my interest, enough to warrant 4 stars for me. But I must say, I found this book, and the entire series actually, to be very frustrating because I'm often confused by the art and the plot.
What bugs me about the art...
* Very tight closeups, so close that it's not clear who or what is being depicted
* Disorienting perspective changes panel-to-panel, even crossing the 180-degree line
* Panels where everything is only partially in the frame, as if the artist were a photographer whose finger twitched at the wrong time
* Action panels that are so chaotic that you can't tell what's happening
* Dialog bubbles aren't always clear about who's talking
* Characters being drawn in a very different cartoonish style during heightened emotional situations (although I suspect this is a manga trope that I just don't 'get')

Artists will use these techniques intentionally. But for me Kohske overdoes it, both in frequency and intensity.

What bugs me about the plot...
* Character motivations are confusing (not in a good way)
* Character reactions are odd or exaggerated (but this could just be a Manga style thing)
* Too abrupt scene transitions

It's a long list of gripes... and yet I still like the book quite a lot. Go figure.

Not my favourite but still enjoyable... Something sentimental is going on, not sure what....

Jesus fucking Christ I have never been so stressed reading this series. Can't form coherent paragraphs so let's just get these thoughts out of the way:

- right off the bat Alex in overalls reminding me of Winry <3
- now see there's a brother sister thing going to happen and it will break me I just know it
- hard to see Alex still going through the process of healing from her traumatic past but I'm also happy she's surrounded by what's her new family and taken care of
- I see Koshke having Nic embrace Alex from the back I see you
- also thank you for that cat sidequest
- the entire arc at Bastard had my heart pounding
- um hello Galahad? as if I need another fictional character to thirst over?
- on a more serious note this shows how we need each other. people need people to protect one another

Volume 4 is the best in the series so far. The story pieces are starting to come together and the pacing is ramping up for all-out war.

Bloodbath and more mystery surrounding the twilights. Thrilling!

Esse volume é mais porradaria.
A história sai um pouco do pessoal de cada um e explora mais o universo dos dogtags apresentando novos personagens. Ajuda a dar uma refrescada na dinâmica, mas queria mais tempo com o trio de protagonistas.
