I loved king of scars just as much as Leigh's other books in the Grishaverse. I found this book a fantastical read. I loved seeing another side to Zoya as well as learning more about the ever charming Nikolai. A must read for any Grishaverse fan. Can't wait to read the next book. To explore the rest of Zoya's and Nikolai's Journey.

The Grishaverse books get better with each new series. I was nervous about the return to Ravka, but it turned out quite lovely. Political intrigue is intriguing. Nina is Nina. Yes.

One of the endless aspects of the #grishaverse that keeps me coming back is the ceaseless fight for freedom against tyranny. Each character, from King Nikolai to Zoya Nazyalenaky to Nina Zenik, are all figuring out the path to liberation for all. The #grishaverse , much like #childrenofbloodandbone is centered around a genocidal conflict of warring nations and a magick population. The war is over, but Grisha are still hunted, experimented on, and ultimately left in mass graves. #kingofscars examines how to grapple with and the process of “fixing” a broken world. The King. The General. The Spy. Between all three perspectives, we see how change is enacted from each level. And guess what? Nikolai is important and all, but boyfriend isn’t getting jack done without Nina and Zoya. #leighbardugo #grishaverse #zoyanazyalensky #ninazenik #kingofscars #readabook #englishteacher #bookstagram
