Loved the first book. Liked the second book. Really didn’t care for this one.

Like many other reviewers, I noticed the continuity errors and that just felt so sloppy. Adding a drawn-out storyline about something that was pretty far from the plot, in the middle of an apocalyptic battle?? Just felt like JLA was adding filler.

The conclusion of the story was nice, and JLA did leave room for another spinoff or continuation.

I read a lot of YA fantasy and some of it is really good. And then there is this. I don’t know why I kept reading because each book got progressively worse. I hate it when authors talk down to YA readers. It isn’t necessary. The dialogue in this series was atrocious. Apparently the author has never spoken to a teenager before. The romance was cringey and so over the top I couldn’t read for all the eye rolling. That’s probably why it took me 11 days to read a relatively short book. Do yourself a favor and pass.

Have you ever loved a book series so much that you weren't ready to say goodbye?

Even though I preordered this book long before it was released, I wasn't ready to read it until now.

This was such a wonderful and amazing and exhilarating conclusion to Trinity and Zayne's story ❤️

I absolutely adored it and loved being surprised by the last major plot twist. I did not see it coming.

It was an incredible and fitting end for this series. And you never know, the back door has been left open for another spin-off in the future. Having this tiny piece of hope made saying goodbye a little easier.

this was simply not a good book. boring and annoying. i’m giving it two stars bc i wasn’t even passionate enough about it to hate it.

2/5⭐️

I’m not even going to bother posting quotes for this book because I’m so disappointed.

I’ve got a lot of complaining to do so buckle in. Let’s start small-
I don’t love when characters give little recaps at the beginning of new books. For instance, trinity is thinking to herself about what’s happened and she begins recounting her eye disease, the name, the degenerative properties, etc. she does this for several plot points and it mildly irritates me, but not my biggest fish to fry with this book.

Let me get the yucky stuff out of the way first.
Why in the actual fuck, is a YA book that is focusing on an 18 YEAR OLD FMC, having a pregnancy scare as 80% of the filler plot in the last book??
Be so fucking for real actually. The way once a chapter from 20-70% trinity is thinking to herself and pondering about her parenting skills, and then thinks literally a handful of days (max 3) a pregnancy test would work?? Girl be FR. All of that for it to literally not even matter in the end.
Not to even mention the unnecessary “cnc” or some version of it plot line was weird as fuck.

I also couldn’t stand the amount of “you’re so good” “you say the right things”. I’m not kidding when I say this shit happened every 3 pages for several chapters. It felt like fluff/filler and is such a let down compared to the dialogue and confessions of love in books 1/2.

Now my biggest problem. The Plot.

First, the plot in the first two books was very serious themes and topics with light hearted characters and dialogue to balance it out which worked pretty well. When Lucifer arrived and “Highway to Hell” was playing I genuinely tuned out the rest of the book. Nothing after that point felt like the stakes were high, and I needed to be invested. It was such a disappointing turn.

I also felt like I was being fed red herrings the whole time, and by the end it felt like Jennifer was rolling dice on what ending to have and it changed every few chapters.

Spoiler warning below‼️

For example: the highschool was made to be SUCH an important part of the story, and they even have several chapters dedicated to it, and the plot line about the crystals, then it never goes anywhere. In fact, nothing about the highschool is resolved by the end. Are you kidding me???

Also the entire Lucifer/antichrist plot line. What the fuck was the point of having that at all. There isn’t another book, and it feels unfinished?

I’m aware it eventually works itself out in the end but (I can’t remember her name) the girl peanut is “hanging out with” plot pops up so many times in all 3 books all for it to never go anywhere. While the twist was unexpected, that felt so uneeded and peanut just could’ve been secretive about where he was

Overall I’m so so disappointed with how this ended and I wish so desperately I had stopped 20% into this book and left the series at that.

“You are all I ever wanted, even before I knew what I wanted. It was you. It was always you.”

I powered through this book. I picked it up last night and couldn’t put it down.

Then today I found it just seemed to drag on. I won’t lie, this probably won’t be a series I pick back up but it was definitely a cute read. I feel like it would be better for a more fantasy based reader.
