So disappointing. I’m in a series of DNFs lately. I was curious about the ending so I just googled the info. Couldn’t finish. This book was so cringey.

3,5

This series scratched the romantasy itch, and I liked the FMC’s quirks and funny cute little sayings, but it’s definitely not my favorite series of all time. Gargoyles and angels… sure why not, LOL.

This was a really weak finish to the Trinity and Zayne story. We have been building up to the big battle for two books. Getting all of the pieces in place and making them go through a ton of crap to get to this point so they can fight the battle. In getting ready, there is A LOT of really ridiculous drivel between Trinity and Zayne that can be boiled down to, “You’re so perfect, Zayne.” “No, you’re so perfect, Trinity.” It gets really grating after a while. There are also way too many detailed descriptions of kisses that are done at bizarre times. It’s one thing to talk about how she is feeling, and it makes sense to have emotional scenes, but some of it went on way too long.

I read the books of the Layla/Zayne/Roth saga several years ago, so maybe I had forgotten any issues with the entire story concept, but I thought the story had potential. I felt bad for Zayne that he had to put up with all of these whiny dummies all the time, and he has to constantly clean up all of the messes. I can’t tell anymore whether I even liked Layla or Roth at all. Lucifer is pointless. There was a rush to finish the story that left a ton of plot holes. Threads were left dangling everywhere, and the attempt to pull them together at the end was embarrassingly bad. The worst was the part with Michael. Just so cringe and terrible. I really don’t understand what happened with this one. It should probably only be one star for the rating but I usually like this author and the first third of the book was fine and in keeping with the other two books in the series.

I enjoyed the end to the series, a few twists I’d not seen coming too.

I'm finally getting around to reviewing this! This is still my favorite JLA series (although Covenant will always have a special place in my heart) but I will say this finale wasn't quite everything I'd hoped it would be.

This had all the banter I love about this series, and a wild rollercoaster of a plot, but there was a spark between Zayne and Trinity missing. I just didn't feel their chemistry quite as viscerally in here as I did in the previous 2 books. And I think that was more on Trinity's character than Zayne's because I thought his arc in here was great!

But overall this was a really satisfying ending and I liked the direction it took. And I just love this series a whole heckin' ton

Meinung

WHAT A SERIES.
REALLY ENJOYED ZAYNE
AND TRINITY, I FELT LIKE
THIS BOOK WAS
STRETCHED OUT A BIT
TOO MUCH EVEN THOUCH
I'M PRETTY SURE IT WAS
) THE SHORTEST IN THE
SERIES. I WAS SATISFIED
WITH THE ENDING.

“I told him that I was willing to die a thousand deaths for you. That I loved you that much. Then he asked what would do to be reunited with you. I told him I’d do anything.”

This book was bittersweet for me. I love this series and this world so the fact that we are at the end of it, is sad. But I was also incredibly excited to see how Trinity and Zayne’s story would end. Which means of course, that I started reading as soon as I woke up and read the book in one day. What can I say, I have no patience.

Grace and Glory picks up right where Rage and Ruin left off. Not only is Zayne back from the dead but he’s rocking some fancy new wings that just so happen to be white and feathered. That’s right, Zayne is now an angel, or more specifically a Fallen. The why’s and how’s come out later in the book and I don’t want to spoil it so that’s all I’m going to tell you on that. Now, just because Zayne is back doesn’t mean that everything is all rainbows and kittens for him and Trinity. Let’s just say that our girl has to go through a lot before things get better. On top of that, they still have to figure out a way to stop Gabriel, and that comes with its own set of complications.

Trinity grew so much throughout this series and it’s so evident in this book. She finally stopped keeping everything inside and really started communicating. I feel like she also had quite a bit of self reflection in this book and that helped her grow as well. And Zayne is just, well perfect. There’s a bit more hardness to him now but he still has the innate goodness that is pure Zayne, and I was absolutely here for it!

I feel like Jen gave me everything that I could have possibly wanted out of this book. There’s drama, romance, comedy, and of course appearances by much loved characters like Roth, Layla, Cayman, and Bambi, along with some surprise characters as well. We even get to see a bit of Robin, Layla’s familiar, and honestly that just made me want a pet fox. This was the perfect ending to an amazing series. And while I’m sad that it’s over, I know that I can always go back and do a reread to catch up with some of my favorite characters.

“You are all I ever wanted, even before I knew what I wanted. It was you. It was always you.”

This was the third and last book in the Harbinger trilogy. I have a few mixed feelings about it. For starters, there is a LOT of profanity. Secondly, the theology is utter crap. It frankly made me very sad to think that Jennifer or any of her readers (or anyone else out there) might actually think or believe anything remotely similar to the views about God in this book (and series).
