Went into this book semi-blind and I came out loving it. It was the perfect mix of serious and lighthearted. The elements of found family make this book all the better - Ali does a wonderful job of developing Misery's character development and shows how she comes to love herself.

This HEA really tugged at my heart strings. Would love a book for Serena and Koen!

I got really frustrated and disappointed that

Lowe wasn’t forthcoming with his feelings and lied to Misery about her being his mate

. It really felt like it sped up downhill around the 70% mark. I really didn’t like the confrontation scene and I still don’t understand why Misery was involved so suddenly. This story just didn’t make sense in the end.

I usually avoid TikTok sensations but I was drawn by the cover to this one and I’m glad I took a chance. Loved it, I feel like I’ve not read a good vampire / werewolf book for years (maybe since the era of Twilight) .
I did find the

Serena being a hybrid

plot line totally obvious and saw it coming a mile off, but it was still enjoyable.
Very quick read, hard to put down once started.

This was a nice surprise! It was well written and I never saw the last twists arrive. It was a slow burn, marriage of convenience story with a dash of spice and knotting.
