I usually love Adriana’s books, and wanted to like this much more than I did. But it was ruined for me in the middle of reading it when I found out (trigger warning: date rape) that in real life, in 1998, Loretta Young reportedly told her daughter-in-law that she had been date raped by Clark Gable which led to the conception of their daughter. It’s unfortunately very dull as well. Sad to say that I am not a fan of this one.
