I didn’t not feel overly invested in this story until maybe half way through. I don’t blame the book though; I think I was just not in the mood for a thriller/mystery, but it became available at the library and was on my list. 

It touches on topics of religion, faith, systemic racism and grief. All topics I generally find really interesting and like reading about. The ending felt a bit anticlimactic to me and the killer seemed to be pulled out of nowhere, but truthfully, I could have not been paying attention at key moments before that 😅

I read the audiobook and the narrator does a fantastic job.

Felt like there were some subplots that could have been tied up better, but that might just be the romance reader in me 😉

Definitely recommend giving this one a shot!
