Absolutely loved the book. This was my first by SA Cosby and I absolutely felt in love with his main character, Sheriff Titus. The story had good pacing, otherwise filled with commentary on the not-so-subtle racism in a Southern American County called Charon County. I liked the inner monologues of Titus and his 'not-taking-shit-from-anyone' attitude. The mystery was well-developed, but the pacing could be better with a tighter structure. Some characters played absolutely no role and could be omitted.

Sheriff Titus Crown. What a legend. What a story. Feeling thankful for having been introduced to S.A. Cosby as an author, and cannot wait for his next book to be released this summer. Hard to say which book is the best of his 3 I have now read, but if I ranked them 10 times, this would come it at number one the most of the 3.

I listened to this entire audio book over the course of two days. I didn't want to put it down. I really enjoyed the story. This is my first S.A. Cosby bead but definitely not my last. I think what makes this book stand out from other crime thrillers or mysteries is the depth of the story. I feel like you really dig into motivations and environments within this book in a way that makes it a much more compelling read.
