My first SA Cosby book- and definitely won’t be my last. From the first paragraph, this story had a grip on me.  More than just a gripping crime thriller, it’s a powerful exploration of grief, religion, race, justice, and trauma, all set against the backdrop of a Southern town that feels hauntingly real.

It’s your “typical” thriller. Hero in a small town with the predictably complicated past, disturbing violence/crimes, and the big showdown at the end. But the racial commentary, likable hero, and overall good writing makes it a satisfying read.
