I had such a fun time reading this book! This was my first ever mafia romance book and I have to say, I loved every page of it! Kay Cove does this sub genre in such a clever way, that it truly made me want to pick up the rest of the series as she writes it, as well as many other books in this genre!

I was not sure how I would feel about this genre, but I realize now that I absolutely LOVE it and will devour lots more of these books. The touch her and die vibes? Immaculate. There is truly nothing better to me than getting to see a strong and intense man be willing to share his intimate and vulnerable pieces of himself with the girl he loves. Precious, baby, good girl? Give me ALL the pet names, please and thank you.

Going off of that, Linc and Eden's romance was incredible. I loved the way that Kay set up their romance and had me screaming for them to get together. She paces their romance in the perfect timing, not making it too rushed or slow. It genuinely felt so natural and true to how these characters would actually fall in love.

I also loved the whole plot, conflict, and element of PALADIN in the book. I found it super interesting and intriguing. It genuinely had me wanting to keep reading and learn more about PALADIN and what was going to happen. The whole plot point of Eden and Empress was also super entertaining. This book really had it all - the plot, the conflict, the romance, the very well-executed smut, and great character development.

I genuinely really enjoyed seeing Linc and Eden fall in love and how protective that Linc was. It was the best to see him do everything in his capacity to keep Eden safe.

In the end, I absolutely devoured this book and it was so much fun to read. Although it was a darker romance, the humor and the way it was executed made it so digestible and such a fun read. I never felt like the content was too heavy or overwhelming for me to read. I will definitely be reading Tattletale and everything else that Kay Cove writes from now on! I rate this book 5/5 stars! 🌟

This is not my typical type of book - I generally stay in the romantasy sphere - but this was the May book of the month for ProbablySmut and it was amazing!

I love the hardass MMC who is so sweet and tender. And the story was great and fast-paced. The spice was perfect, but too much or too little.

It was well written and the special edition of the book we got was beautiful. The first page of every chapter was black with white text and it was so fun!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Stars
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4/5 Spice Rating
📝 Available on KU; Alternating 1st Person; Mild k!nk

He’s an assassin, she’s afraid of guns; two people could not be more opposite. Eden & Linc balanced each other out and gave the other what they really needed in a partner.

This was an enjoyable read, one that had a nice balance of storyline, suspense, and spice. The number of spicy scenes isn’t a lot, but the mild k!nk in them gave it a slightly high rating than I’d usually give it.

I highly recommend checking out the extended epilogue; I’m a sucker for those and this one didn’t disappoint.

"If someone tried to hurt you, what I'd do is so much worse. I'd make them fucking beg for death."

This is very easily my favorite of Kay Cove's. Just outdoes herself with every new novel. Whistleblower, the first in her new series Paladin.

Eden, a strong-willed, sweet girl,, thrown into the worst of circumstances, gets offered the job of a lifetime. The way she takes control and is so strong and compassionate, even to those she should be scared of. She gets thrown a hell of a curveball in her life, and she's nothing if not supportive but ready to throw down.

And Linc? He's a total teddy bear underneath the assassin persona. He's the morally gray character you fall in love with. From the get-go. The possessiveness and willing to kill for the woman he loves; but is so sweet and loving.

I'm in love with their relationship, how he'll burn down the world for her.

And all the others? I'm in love with them all.

Im obsessed, and I don't want to wait until next year for more.
