Another banger from Tana French. I haven’t read anyone else who can build tension the way she does. The pace starts off slow but builds steadily until you feel like you just got shot out of a cannon and can’t put it down in the last two-hundred pages. I also really connected more with the characters this time than when she introduced them in The Searcher.

2.5 stars; ugh, this was a slough and boring at points. I like the 3 main characters but there was too little of them and too much of the other annoying people. I also guessed the murderer pretty early on so could have done with about 1/3 less of this wordy slough.
