Read this while waiting for a friend at the bookstore and was amazed at the simplicity with which a subject like loneliness and the never-ending search to find someone who 'completes you' is dealt with. Be yourself, evolve and you'll do just fine. What a brilliant picture book!

recomended for everyone!!! really meaningful book, this book has underlying meaning and make me goosebumps at the end I read this book. to more know yourself is more enough than searching for completeness from other people, keep moving forward.

One of my all time favorite pictures books ever. Adults should read it. I wish I had read it sooner.

''But I have sharp corners'' said the missing piece
"I am not shaped for rolling"

"Corners wear off"
said the Big O
" and shapes changes." :))

Sometimes simple is best. A very creative young children's story.

2.5 stars I don't get it. What is the purpose of this book? I read in a review something akin to it being about relationships...which, having read that, I can *kinda* see where someone could get that, if searching for some kind of underlying story or purpose. But this is supposed to be for children? Kids aren't going to get that...I'm 31 and didn't get that. In fact, as I'm reading and wondering where the story is gonna go and what purpose it has, I had more of thought of it trying to teach kids to not let other people's judgements bother you, that sitting around and waiting for others to help you isn't always the best way...that when you work at something, even when it's difficult, it may get easier, or change you for the better...I don't know, something like that. But I don't like having to SEARCH for what books mean, I just read them for enjoyment. Meh. This is not what I expected it to be.
