Interesting take on family, ancestor connection, siblings, immigration, belonging, and reverberating trauma among Koreans related to the war and ongoing conflict and division. I enjoyed the more experimental pieces, and I always enjoy a deceased narrator. I felt the book climaxed then had a hard time maintaining or resolving the energy in the later part of the book, but ultimately really enjoyed the read.

Read a physical copy if you can. I read this on my e-reader and found myself wanting a more tactile experience. There’s a lot of beautiful prose that I wanted to underline, that I’ll be returning to. I would not recommend experiencing this as an audio book. Han does some cool format breaking things in text you have to see to appreciate, plus I think the pacing of this book would make it a hard/less than engaging listen
