I nearly gave up on this book in the first half. The characters came across as immature rather than as in their late 20s. The voice of the audiobook narrator contributed to the immature vibe. The second half of the book was better than the first half. If I were to rate this based only on the first half and the narration, I would rate it a 2.

Sarah Hogle has such a unique voice, which I have come to love. This slightly unhinged story that still manages to be heartfelt just felt like something only she could pull off. This did take some time for me to warm up to it as the adversarial dynamic earlier in the story was not my favorite, but the ways the romance grew throughout the story definitely made up for it. I just love the little ways the characters care for each other in her books. This was definitely the spiciest book I’ve read by this author, but I am now looking forward to the lead’s sisters’ stories as the series continues.  🗣👤⚖️🔓☁️

This was just meh. It was more a slice of life story. Also felt like the adult mc were acting young for their age? I dunno, this was cute but not a fave.
