I fell in love with the characters in this book. The story is so well written and engrossing. It was difficult to put down. I highly recommend it!

This book was enjoyable, though, it felt longer than was necessary. The first two sections of the book were the strongest. I enjoyed following the characters in this book, particularly the main character, Hallie. The ending is not classically happy, but it's more realistic than a few of the other plot points. Overall, it was worth the read!

2.5 stars: I wouldn't say this novel was outright fluff but the dialogue made it feel that way. I don't know how one writes a novel on such a serious subject and makes it into something so tedious and bland but there it is. I also thought the whole story was more than just a little unbelievable which certainly didn't help.

Another abandonment. I was drawn to the setting and initially, the story held my interest. However, as one of the protagonists becomes a priest, the story loses credibility. I found the interaction between this priest and his pastor totally absurd. The plot line disintegrates and becomes quite preposterous.

This was probably a 3.5. It was a soap opera of a book, but still and engrossing read.

Absolutely stunning from start to finish. It was filled with words that begged to be read again because they felt like poetry. A beautifully woven story with big moral messages about love, forgiveness, and redemption. The plot twists? I never saw them coming. Definitely a best book of 2014 for me!

This story was relatively entertaining although not very impressively written. It was a slow start but I enjoyed the second half and the way it wrapped up. 3.5

I enjoyed this story, a good read, especially after the long hiatus I took from reading. I liked how each character was an "orphan" in some form. While the twists weren't overly shocking, the storyline did keep you guessing. Easy, quick read.
