Wow what an amazing ride this book was!

Ok so I finished this last night and needed time to process it all but here goes that was a fantastic thriller! It got me in all the right places and so many plot twists! I had many theories myself and one of them was the fact that the manuscript was all just a writing exercise especially since her series was from a villain pov and this manuscript felt like the most horrendous villain.... like you actually felt sick reading it!

Another short-lived theory while I read the chapter of the kids in the canoe on the lake was that Harper actually survived and she was the one running around the house locking doors and playing with the tv remote and who Lowen saw on the stairs....just a bizarre thought really.
I have to say I have never read a thriller so fast...would defo read more romance thrillers now! The sex scenes were well done and not overly done which was great since I prefer it not to take away from the plot.

I think the end seemed little messy - the fact that Jeremy had already read the manuscript and outright decided he was going to harm his wife who was apparently very loving rather than question it (she is a writer after all Jeremy!). But at the same time the last line of the book opens it all to interpretation of the reader: "which truth was she manipulating?". Its very hard to say! I want to believe that she wrote herself as a villain but wasn't actually one - I fail to see how a mother could choose one daughter over another. But then the whole scar thing on Chastin...I guess it could be a birthmark?!..oh man its sooo difficult! Also if she was a famous author it would be difficult to actually BE a villain with the limelight on you.

The other thing that didn't make sense or was weak reasoning was why would she fake being brain dead and why or how would Jeremy get her into an accident the way he did. I know its all explained but its a little confusing too.

Overall it chilled me to my bones! Especially all the scenes with Crew and seeing Verity on the stairs! And I have never read a thriller so quickly! The font size helped too!

Really really loved this thriller. Disturbing and kept me guessing until the end. Ultimately, I think it ended a little too quickly for me and I felt a little unsatisfied. Give me more thrillers Colleen!
