I loved this book honestly, I listened to it through Audible and I loved everything about the narrator and the way the author tells the story. It’s absolutely nothing like silent patient, her other book, but I liked how different it was and her style of writing. Will read more of her books.

It's hard for me to write a review for The Fury. I wanted to love it, but it ended up being just okay for me. I love a good thriller because I love the escapism of them. The Fury had short chapters and it was a very quick read overall, but there was no one to root for, no real character development. The structure of the book itself was unique, like a play in five acts with one narrator. Which is perfectly fine, but I needed more story to be a satisfied reader. The isolated Greek island served as a scary backdrop, but there was nothing that was memorable for me. I found it just okay and a bit of a disappointment.

I'm very grateful to Celadon Books for my advanced copy.

The Fury is a cleverly written mystery/suspense thriller that puts a fresh spin on the classic “whodunit.” I really enjoyed the ride—full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. Most of the reveals genuinely surprised me, which I always appreciate in this genre.

That said, while justice is technically served by the end, the resolution left me feeling a bit unsettled. There was a lack of emotional or moral satisfaction that made the ending feel less fulfilling, even if it was clever. Still, it’s a gripping and well-crafted read that kept me hooked throughout.

After reading The silent patient I wanted to read more from this author, and I did quite like it. I found the narrator to be especially interesting, as he makes himself very present in the story, and speaks directly to the reader. After the halfway point I was very curious as to how it would end, and I did like the plot twist. I wish the writing style was a bit more polished, but would recommend as a fun and easy read.

A fun, spunky, suspense story with a charismatic and unreliable narrator. I struggle with narrators who narrate and then go “I wish it actually happened that way” and then restart the story, as this one did, but I devoured the book either way.
