Although this instalment in the series explored some interesting topics and had great representation, I was so uninvested in the characters and plot that this story became entirely forgettable to me. I think the issue was that this is the first true standalone in the companion series and it felt very isolated from the world I know and love. Definitely my least favourite so far.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

I, like others, was not wild about this one. I didn't care for the setting, and I generally don't like horses, either, so there was a lot stacked against it. I thought Regan was an interesting character, but I just thought the plot of this one was overly simplistic and not particularly interesting to me.

Definitely felt the short length of this one.. the ending, I wanted more.
I do hope to see Regan in the future. I wished she would end up back with Pansy and Chicory
