Dieses Buch hat mich absolut süchtig gemacht! Stellenweise urkomisch und so absurd, dass ich es nicht fassen konnte.
Lediglich das Ende kam für mich etwas plötzlich. Große Empfehlung 🐍

I listened to the audiobook of this novel. Overall, a compelling read that reflects the ongoing effects of climate change and the climate anxiety that goes along with it. The prose was well-written, the characters dynamic and at times, flat-out unlikable. I did not love the internalized ableism of Cooper's amputation. Small note, but I hated the way that the audiobook narrator said their 'w's lol.

I should really dislike this book (really awful people!) and yet, I enjoyed it. It felt like I was reading about Skink in one of Carl Hiaasen’s books: it takes place in Florida and is full of characters who make really poor choices. Even as they undergo tragedy, I found myself unable to feel any empathy for them, but neither did I find myself feeling contempt nor judging them as I might normally do. It was a surprise, a nice one, that I really liked reading it.
