Guys, I figured out my role on goodreads, my place among the constellation of the stars among reviewers. You know, all those ladies with the glasses?
I’m the guy who will readily say “I didn’t get it.”
This one I didn’t really get.
Nobody steal my gimmick, okay? It’s extremely easy to copy, and if you copy it, I can’t really do anything about it. But I WILL know what you’ve done and probably complain to my girlfriend, who will be rightfully baffled by this Internet beef that probably lives entirely inside my head. “Yes, exactly!” I’ll say because Internet beefs always live exclusively in someone’s head.

If you like the main Umbrella Academy books, you'll like this too. There are lots of fun ideas, characters, and scenes here, although the plot holding it all together feels like an afterthought.

This was missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. I definitely miss Gabriel's art and I think a lot of the punch for me from the main series comes from the interaction between siblings which is entirely lost here. I love Klaus but he's best as a part of the whole.

In a fit of whimsy, I hereby announce I will give everyone five stars, but the reviews may not reflect it.
Not as good as the original books, but a fun addition focusing solely on Seance and his ghostly retinue. If you like UA, you'll like this, but as with many follow-up novels, prior knowledge is a must.

A fun side story with Klaus. Unlike Hotel Oblivion the story was followable, and while Apocalypse Suite will always hold a special place in my heart, I really enjoyed this mini series.

It has the weirdness I expect from an Umbrella Academy tale, but not the feel. I really missed Gabriel Bá's artwork, and Simon and Way working together produced a confusing plot with too many characters I didn't care for.
