I have been holding on to hope for Nesta for 3.1 books and finally got the payoff in ACOSF! She was so damn stubborn for so long and her mental gymnastics was so frustrating to read. But I always knew that deep down she was just full of all the pain she pushed down and down her whole life.
I cannot even really put into words how much her journey in this book meant to me. Her found family with Gwyn and Emerie, the other priestesses who joined the Valkyrie training - I have never been so empowered and inspired to find my own strength and power. The last few chapters had me cheering for them, crying with them, and loving every second!!

SJM really turned up the 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ in this book!!
I'm starting to think Rhys lied to Feyre about the whole wingspan thing 👀

Cassian is everything. I loved the relationship building, everything felt so true to their characters and built naturally. I do feel like it was a bit excessive at times, but it mostly made sense for Nesta's arc and growth.

I could have done without the pregnancy storyline tbh. I didn't feel like it added to the story, Rhys became overbearing and overprotective in a way that felt out of character for him, and I didn't like that he was always preaching that Feyre had a choice in everything, but then decided to just not tell her about the risks of her pregnancy so she could have control over her own body.   I also didn't really like them dealing with yet another close call with death, like, once was fine but 3 times now is excessive. I wish too that Nesta was able to keep her power, but I understand why they got taken away (the sacrifice for the people she loved, the wrapping up of the issue of people wanting to use her as a weapon, her own fears of being out of control with it etc) I just feel like she was nerfed as soon as she found her power.
Also feel a little disappointed she didn't get to the top of Ramiel as well, that would have been icing on the cake, though I know it meant a whole lot more for Emerie and Gwyn to get there together!

So looking forward to the next book! It cannot come out fast enough!

I know it's rumored to be Elain focused, but I really hope we get focus on Azriel and Mor as well! I am all in for a Mor/Emerie storyline!

Would have been five stars if not for that
unnecessarily traumatic pregnancy side plot.
But I really loved this book, the best in the series so far in my opinion.

I can't tell if I like this book best because it's actually better/plays to SJM's strengths as a writer or if this one just has more characters/tropes that appeal to me personally. *gestures at Nesta like I'm John Mulaney in 'Kid Gorgeous'*: My wife's a bitch, and I like her so much.

Still deducting points for the clumsy deus ex machina.

Also:

Yet another fictional universe that really needs to get around to inventing the therapist.

Much like Star Wars,
I'm supposed to believe that our main characters can heal from anything except being female pregnancy.

We now have two male characters named after female goddesses ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I like that this book is transitioning the focus to other characters I am hoping the next book will allow us to meet Elain tbh she is still very vague.  Nesta was severely traumatized by the war and possibly even before that throughout their childhood. We begin to see her more as the person her mother created her to be and see how her behavior has to do with unresolved issues within herself. I really enjoyed that she did a great deal of healing by befriending other survivors and learning how to fight for themselves.

I don't see a big issue with Feyre's pregnancy bc her story is basically at their happily ever after. I guess with another war still looming having a child is not ideal to play a larger role but she is not the focus anymore.
Like let them have their happily ever after. Why is it on her and Rhys to save Prythian every time? Maybe other books will include other high lords stepping up.
