Maybe because it was a novella I read mostly in fits and starts, but this did not really do it for me. I found the development of the relationship to be very stop & go, and wanted a *lot* more tension than I feel like I got. However, the spicy scenes are hot, because, well, it's Talia Hibbert!

This was so sweet! I think one of the marks of a fantastic novella, is when you feel like there’s a whole full-length novel’s-worth of character arc, complete with tension and buildup.

This book surprised me in that regard. It really felt a lot longer than it was, not because of pacing issues or anything, but because Hibbert achieves so much emotional investment in such a short amount of time.

 - Even in their novellas, Talia Hibbert is so good at quickly crafting an entire world and a believable couple within it.
- Nina is a classic Hibbert heroine, a woman with a bit of an edge, but soft and deeply loving once you get past that.
- Even in this barely-100-pages book, Hibbert manages to get in more spiciness than some other full length romance novels have!
