Sophie Lark has a new fan girl… it’s me, I’m the new fan girl.

Aida and Callum. That’s it that’s the review. But no, seriously, I’m obsessed with them. I finished their book and immediately bought Stolen Heir because I’m about to devour this series.

I love Sophie’s writing and I’m so excited to read the rest of her books because yes I AM going to read all of them thank you very much.

CW mention of miscarriage and stillbirth, stalker ex, violence, gun violence, drugging, woman in peril, house fire

⭐ Enemies to lovers
⭐ Mafia romance
⭐ Marriage of convenience

An enemies to lovers, where they  are genuinely enemies and hate each other? Sign me the hell up🙏

A brilliant opening to a series, Brutal Prince ditches the rivals to lovers angle of the enemies to lovers trope and brings two feuding families with a prickly heroine who literally tries to kill him within the first quarter of the book 😂 Honestly an iconic move.

I always love to see characters, particularly the macho MMC start to soften gradually over the course of a book and this had it in spades as we see Callum totally disregard his own safety and well-being just to rescue Aida.

I loved it. I needed it. Chef's kiss.

I read this book because it was being talked about a lot on booktok but…I don’t know why. Maybe I’m not into mafia romances? But the plot pacing felt weird to me. Events happen too quickly, so it was difficult to get invested in the characters. Not sure I’ll bring reading the other brutal birthright series.

Wasn’t bad? I liked the main guy and girl by the end, but I didn’t feel like the transition was drawn out enough from enemies to lovers. Especially since it started with full blown slurs (against Italians and the Irish), like you need to show me more development in the in between. Other than this the mafia elements are very vague and almost a background thing rather than a big part of the plot so it felt even more boring lmao
