⭐ Enemies to lovers
⭐ Mafia romance
⭐ Marriage of convenience

An enemies to lovers, where they  are genuinely enemies and hate each other? Sign me the hell up🙏

A brilliant opening to a series, Brutal Prince ditches the rivals to lovers angle of the enemies to lovers trope and brings two feuding families with a prickly heroine who literally tries to kill him within the first quarter of the book 😂 Honestly an iconic move.

I always love to see characters, particularly the macho MMC start to soften gradually over the course of a book and this had it in spades as we see Callum totally disregard his own safety and well-being just to rescue Aida.

I loved it. I needed it. Chef's kiss.

Was this the best written book? No.
Was it the sexiest book? No.
But I loved Aida as a character, I thought she was so badass. Callum was too controlling at the start but his character development throughout the book made him lovable in the end. The actions they took and things they did to each other to make them enemies were excellent and the explosiveness of their relationship had me hooked. My favourite moment - the strawberries.
Plus there were some genuinely funny, laugh out loud moments. Overall, this was a fun, easy and enjoyable read.

After an accident at Callum’s family home, Aida’s father and Callum’s father arrange their marriage in two weeks. As expected in an enemies to lovers story, they hated each other at first.

The story is told both from Aida and Callum’s perspectives.

I found them to be really annoying at first. I understand they hated each other but they were both so childish in the beginning. Which might make sense for Aida being young and not having graduated college yet but Callum is 30. Once they started working together a bit they were less annoying.

CW: gun violence, violence, kidnapping

This was slow to read in the first half. It took a while for Aida and Callum to emotionally warm up to each other. The lust came rather quickly. I have to agree with some other descriptions that this is mafia light. I did enjoy that Cal and Aida started to see each other for themselves. That they started to like the differences between each other. I liked this and am interested in the other books in the series.
