This story line felt played out before it even started. There were some satisfying twists, but overall it felt like Gone Girl wrapped around Girl On The Train. I just could never feel that invested or sympathetic for the wife. Overall, felt hollow to me. To be fair, I started skimming pages and skipping forward due to predictable dialogue and descriptions. Glad this was a lubrary read and not one I paid for!
I found the non-linear structure to be messy and hard to follow. The use of podcasts and letters to tell the story felt unnatural. Overall, the story wasn’t gripping enough for me to overlook not liking the writing style so much.
I devoured this book far quicker than I expected to. It was a great fast-paced plot that was a real page-turner. There were some great unexpected twists in this which I often didn't expect. I liked that Bram's story was written as a suicide note and how they were both morally complex. The ending was left on a slight cliff hanger but it still felt satisfying. I kinda wished I could have had an epilogue to find out what happened to Fi and if Bram actually killed himself or if he faced justice.

Another run-of-the-mill thriller, but at least this one has a good hook, when a separated wife comes home to find that another couple is living in her house...legally. It all sort of drops from there, but at least the first third is interesting.
The opening ( which is basically the blurb about the book) is intriguing. But the next 2/3 of the book just keep repeating, seriously boring and annoying, until the last section, which has all the fun twists and turns, up to the mind blowing last sentence.
This was my second listen to this book and I decided to re-listen before watching the tv series. It was just as good the second time around even though I knew all the twists.
