It's not hyperbole anymore; it is all men.

The birth of a virus that targets anyone with high enough testosterone levels, turning them into mindless, ferocious beasts. Things that hunt in packs to eat (and do worse) to any prey.

The characters we follow most are Beth and Fran, 2 trans girls surviving by any means necessary in the wilderness. A chance encounter puts them in the crosshairs of a merciless army of TERFs. Beth, Fran, and most other characters we're introduced to get a fulfilling amount of depth and development.

This book is GRAPHIC with its violence and sex. Be aware of that going in, and then expect more.

There are pop-culture references that may alienate some potential readers but I hope I'm wrong about that. More people should read this book.

This was a lot more sexual than I thought it was gonna be. It wasn't a bad book. But It was honestly really hard to follow at times. The writer used a lot of really flowery laungage at times and it made it hard to follow along with that was happening. The ending was a really good example of this, it was so hard to follow, nothing seemed clear to me.

This book made me very uncomfortable, and goes at a pace that makes you feel like you can't catch you  breath. The characters were flawed, sometimes to an annoying extent, but in a way that mimicks a found family of traumitized people. I think it's worth sticking through the hard parts, but make sure youre in a good head space before you pick this one up. Especially if youre someone targeted by TERFS & SWERFS.

This was one of the best books I have read in a while and cannot recommend it enough! It was reminiscent of Moths by Jane Hennigan, but substantially darker. The issues tackled in the book are even more heartbreaking as, although set in a dystopian setting, they are real and current dangers. Your attachment and love for the characters just grows with every page, and it left me emotionally devastated. A true modern horror classic.

Intriguing premise is what kept my interest throughout. I found a some of the characters (Fran and Ramona especially) insufferable and others (like Robbie for the first 2/3 of the book) dull and underdeveloped. Beth and Indi were my favs and I wish we got more of their POVs. Not sure how I feel about the book overall and whether I would recommend it.
