This book is nothing like it seems. I can't say more than that without giving it away, and giving away what makes this book so meaningful. I will say that if you pick this book up based on my recommendation/review and wonder early on what the hell I'm talking about because this book is pretty straightforward chick lit, keep reading. Maybe you will still feel that way at the end- I am sure this book touched me in a different way because of some very near and dear life experiences that made this so much harder and more meaningful to read. Maybe you'll still think it was fluffy at the end, and won't agree with my review at all. But maybe you will get out of it what I did, and will appreciate this wonderful, wonderful book.

I was completely taken with this book. There was a wonderful flow between the character voices and it was a story that stuck with me. I devoured this book in a very short time and look forward to more from Mike Greenberg!

All You Could Ask For is a warm-fuzzies-inducing chick-lit read about the power of friendship. Brooke, Samantha, and Katherine are all strong women whom we meet at different stages of life: Brooke is married with children and enjoying life as a suburban mom, Samantha has just gotten married after a whirlwind romance, and Katherine is on top of her world – Wall Street.

But life isn’t all shiny and pretty and rosy. All three have hurdles to overcome – see the blurb above for examples – and then some. But the latest hurdle does come with one benefit – each other. Even if it takes a while to meet (the first part of the book is about each individual), and it takes a bit to get used to each other, eventually these three find that they’re part of an exclusive group – girlfriends who know that they can count on the other for anything, even advice they don’t want to hear. Which, really, is what BFFs are for, right?

Mike Greenberg captured my attention instantly with the first line – “Whose ass is this?” – and made me laugh and cry as the three live and love, and find friendship and acceptance. This is SO a book club read! Or one to sit down with, just because. And when you’re done, you’ll pick up the phone and call your BFF(s).

This book goes to show sometimes it's worth taking a $5 risk on a hardcover you find in the Barnes & Noble clearance section. I had no idea who the author was or what the book was about (I didn't even read the cover flaps), but I picked it up anyway.

And I finished the book in hours...in tears.

Told from multiple female perspectives the book starts simply talking about the lives and relationships of some very different women. Part 2 of the book shows how all these women's lives come together because of their battles with breast cancer.

While it might be a little saccharine in spots, this really was a touching read that highlights just how important a community of women can be to a woman in crisis.

From the first page I was hooked. I was intrigued, how do these three vastly different women connect to one another? And when it is made clear, it felt like a punch to the stomach. I was afraid that the end would be a tear jerker that would make me curse. Luckily, I was wrong. It was beautiful, and inspiring. There may have been tears, but because of the bit of happiness I got out of it. These women faced something that would make most people crumble, but each coped in a unique manner, and helped each other along the way. In the end, they decided how they were going to be defined, and made each day worthy of that definition.

I really enjoyed this book. A well-written, solid story about three women brought together by the completely unexpected. The way in which each woman deals with things is unique and there's something relatable in each of them. Unpredicatable and enjoyable. I would recommend this book.

Beautiful and funny. Loved this book.

Gave up after 50 pages. Who cares about these characters? Gave it more than one star because the quality of writing is good.

First off from reading just the little blurb about this book beforehand, I came into it thinking it would be like a lot of other chick lit books about the lives of these three women and how their lives would somehow meet and intermingle. I never imagined the path it would take in the second part. The journey of their lives and their struggles and choices through their mutual battle with breast cancer. I was amazed at how well this was done being as it was written by a male and the story was told by three women. Yes there were men in the story, but it was mainly centered around each of the women and their lives, told from their point of view. I listened to the audio version of this book and was touched by the interview after the book ended between Tavia Gilbert and Mike Greenberg where he told the story of his close friend who lost her battle with breast cancer. How she met others battling breast cancer online through a support group but never actually got to met them in person. These other ladies wrote nice things about her that were read at her funeral. This along with a few of her close friends who helped her through it all gave him the inspiration for the book. This book was totally not what I was expecting when I checked it out at the library, but I'm so glad I did.
