The story is very emotional as it plays on the fears of the main character. I found that some parts felt a little forced with little background information. Otherwise, it was a good read. You'll need tissues half way through!

really cute book!! didn't necessarily expect the christian elements in it because it's a book about a family with witchy magic?? it didn't bother me much though bc it wasn't mentioned overly much. in general, it was a little slow and repetitive at times, but the vibes were adorable + cozy as heck. I also LOVED the fact that there was a recipe at the end of each chapter! I ended up saving over half of them hehe

The book was not what I expected. I feel like the blurb made the book seem as if it would be more of a small-town fantasy romance novel rather than one with a literal life-or-death situation.

I didn’t hate it, it obviously was compelling enough to keep me reading until I finished it. But there felt like too many storylines were crammed into this book that none of them were able to be fleshed out very well. It also could’ve used another round or two of editing. There was punctuation where it didn’t need to be (and I’m not talking about a comma instead of a semicolon, I’m talking quotations where no one is speaking), there were passages where the person who was supposed to be speaking wasn’t actually the person named on the page. There were a few sentences that I thought were really beautiful, but other than that, this felt more like a class project than anything else. I actually feel like Seth’s story would’ve made a more compelling book. There is room for a sequel to be made based on how the book ended, but if the conflicts are spin offs of conflicts from this book then I’m good.

This is the story of Sadie Revelare, a 🧁 baker 🧁 with magical powers and a terrible curse. If she suffers 💔 four heartbreaks 💔, she loses her ✨ magic ✨ - the thing most important to her - forever. After experiencing her first heartbreak in high school, she spends the next 10 years not letting anyone get close to her. But her world suddenly falls into chaos as her first love returns to their 🏘️ small town 🏘️, and her 👵 grandmother 👵 is diagnosed with late stage cancer.

I found Sadie to be very relatable and I enjoyed watching her confront some of her biggest fears and come out stronger in the other side. Gigi was hilarious - the kind of grandma you wish you had. And those recipes 🤩 I’m definitely trying those rum soaked peach muffins someday soon 🤤 There was one part of the story I thought was too convenient ❤️🔺 and it took me out of the story a bit. But in general I found it to be an enjoyable read and would definitely read more of Breanne Randall’s work.
