This book was awesome! Compelling and fast-paced. Damn, I felt a mixture of emotions while reading. Katniss was badass as usual. Peeta and his love for her, damn. Every victor was interesting in their ways. The tragedy, revolution, and love did it for me. I kind of regret not reading this series earlier, but I thought, I read it at the perfect time, in my early 30s. I appreciate this series a lot. I rarely read super serious books, but this one will be a reread material. Oh btw, there were a lot of horror and problematic themes also, like slavery, assault, murder, etc.

This book is even better than the great first one. This series touches on so many important societal topics but in a really intriguing world and with a gripping, heart-wrenching concept. The way the second games were written kept it fresh - it didn’t feel like the first one rehashed, it was a different story, with somehow even higher stakes.  This book is even better than the great first one. The Hunger Games’s sequels capture attention and contribute to the story just as well as the first book. Catching Fire is a great remarkable book, and my favorite of the series.

Everything about this book is perfection. The political aspect, the slow uprising, the alliances. I just really love the characters and I forgot how funny Finnick and Joanna are. I love the slow realization that katniss comes to about the President and the capital as well as the uprising. Also how sweet Peeta is during all the moments of stress and violence. I also love how their relationship forms.
