A poorly executed attempt at a pretty cool idea. Honestly I finished this a few days ago and it’s so forgettable I had to re-read a bit to jog my memory of the plot. Nothing really makes sense and things are just thrown around without any real attempt to add character development. She gains all her memories back with no real consequence?? Like if you remember a whole traumatic past life wouldn’t there be a bit of adjustment needed? No all she wants to do is bang the boring vampire guy. What’s his name?? Couldn’t tell you cause he had the personality of a piece of wood. Literally cannot remember a single characters name. I couldn’t care less about a single person in this book. I finished it but honestly annoyed I wasted my time reading it.

This is one of the worst books I have ever read in my life. Please don’t let Tik tok fool you.

Id give it a solid 3.5. Its a pretty face paced book and I enjoyed it to a certain degree. I do wish there was a little more world building and plot. The smut was great though so i added the .5.

*4.5 is my actual rating. This book was captivating. The enemies to lovers. The slow world building. Vampires and witches it was everything I needed right now. The smutty sense were very good. But the plot twist was astronomical in the best way. I can not wait to see where the next book will take us. But I will patiently be waiting.

I loved this book way more the second. I forgot so many key thing to the story and they surprised me all over again. I can't wait to read the next book with my mom and partner.

I didn’t love this as much as I wanted to, but I don’t feel like it’s this books fault as much as it is the books that it felt similar to. It had elements of Kingdom of the Wicked/Kingdom of the Cursed and A Shadow in the Ember, which happen to be two of my favorite reads of the year, and this just didn’t top that for me. (Once again, not this books fault. KOTC wrecked my life in the best way possible.)

If I could time travel and read this before those two series, I think I would have enjoyed it much more.

Regardless, I can’t wait for book 2!

Started strong, and ended poorly.

3 Stars.
