“The way you make me feel is worth anything.”
- Single mom
- Billionaire romance
- He falls first
- He’s her son’s boss
- Dual POV
- Narrated by CJ Bloom and Sebastian York (available via KU)
Okay, you were all right… this was great! Maybe a little long, but great nonetheless. You have alpha playboy media mogul Tristan, who falls first and hard for Claire. He finds himself drawn to the single mom, who is the opposite of the women he usually goes for. Claire doesn’t make life easy for him. She tries to let him go because she thinks it’s best for him, but he can’t give her up.
The scenes with the kids were 100% the best part of the book and had me both emotional and laughing out loud. On one hand, you had their hilarious first meeting, and on the other, you had Patrick not wanting him to drive home and Tristan standing up to the school 👏🏻. Tristan had such a unique relationship with each kid as well, and I adored the ending.
It was the back-and-forth, off-and-on, will-they-won't-they aspect of their relationship that just got to me by the end. So, while I don't know if I'll continue the series, I am glad I finally ticked The Takeover off my TBR.

Adorei a história e adorei o Tristan! A Claire por vezes irritava-me, principalmente no final!
Adorei as crianças também, por norma não sou muito fã desta troupe de parente solteiro, ainda para mais quando são 3 crianças mas neste livro até que gostei :)
Ansiosa pelo próximo!!!
Foi 4.5⭐️
This book is NOT AT ALL what I expected. I thought this would be a spicy, fun book without much substance ….but here I am sitting here WEEPING as I finish the book. It’s actually such a beautiful and touching story, especially as a mom, my hearttttttttttt
Two strong willed people fall hard
I didn't think that TL could top Jamison and Emily's story, but Tristan and Claire's was even more heartfelt.
Tristan is the King of takeovers for Miles Media and intended to takeover Claire's company Anderson Media. She refused to sell to him because her husband started the company and she wanted to keep it so that she could pass it on to her children. But she couldn't deny that there wasn't an undercurrent between them.
I loved how hard she worked to hold on to the company and raise her three children after the sudden unexpected death of her husband. It took her Friend and PA Marley to convince her to attend a conference, get a new perspective on business and life. That she needed the time away for herself, to maybe find who she is now without her husband, that it was time to move forward. It was great insight on her assistants part.
It was funny when the first speaker at the conference happened to be Tristan and Claire went to leave he called her out. Too funny! After that I liked that she decided to let herself enjoy herself, let herself go.
Tristan was quite the flirt and knew what he wanted. Although I think he got more than he bargained for or expected.
This book had so many feels in it. Your emotions ran the gauntlet from sadness, to happiness, crying and just up and laughing out loud. I really enjoyed reading Tristan and Claire's story.

I just don't know-
Some parts were cute and good and then other parts were cringy or I just got the complete ick and some of the dialogue was not great and I hated the 3rd act break up it felt so forced and rushed and didn't need to be there at all it could have all be fine if they had a fricking conversation and the book still would have been good but instead it was ruined.
Her kids were really the best part but like idk it felt kinda toxic I don't even know how to feel 3.5 might be generous
