This second installment in the series is better than the first in my opinion. However, I'm convinced that this author just writes terrible characters. The main characters are immature and for them being so old (late 30s compared to the typical 20s written in these types of romances) they just don't know how to accept the communication they are given.
The actually storyline was good. However, the characters really ruined it for me. The execution of her grief falls short. The way she is written as a mom honestly kinda makes her seem like a bad mom (and I really don't think that was intentional, I think we were supposed to understand her struggle as a widow and single parent). The MMC's reaction to first seeing her home and meeting her kids is awful. And again, I think that wasn't the author's intention but the execution falls short on all ends.

Great book. Specifically the scenes with him getting to know the boys but the ending was rushed and abrupt.
As a woman who was once a single mom of two boys I really loved following this story. The weekend in Paris, the sweet gesture of him sleeping on the couch, the individual nicknames he gives everyone, even the mini prank war between him and Harry. I was laughing and crying through the whole book.
Tristan Miles helps lead his family media company with his 3 brothers, they all have their own specialties, Tristan is best at acquisitions. He finds companies that are on the verge of going under and the takes them over. He's always dated "trendy girls" who are younger than him, keep up with fashion trends and post their lives on Instagram. He never finds love with these girls and can't figure out why.
Claire is a widowed mother with 3 boys (17, 13, and 9) who is doing her best to keep her late husbands dreams alive. She's running his struggling media company and raising their boys just the way he'd always wanted to.
The sex is hot between these two, I love how attractive Tristan finds Claire and how much he pays attention to her needs, taking care of her constantly in and out of the bedroom.
The thing I could not get over was that her 13 year old holds Tristans hand. But sometimes it's best to remember that these are fictional, meant to be entertaining, stories and the aim isn't always to reflect what would truly happen.
