The Stopover, the first book in The Miles High series, was great. This book was even better than the first. PERFECT!

This book had it all: the perfect amount of drama, the perfect amount of humour, and the characters, omg the characters. Tristan has won my heart.

This book was very funny. The comedy that goes throughout the growth of this book is simply hilarious. I can't tell you how much I laughed while reading this book. Every misunderstanding and connection between Tristan and Claire was priceless. Nothing, however, compares to Tristan meeting her kids. I couldn't stop laughing because it was so funny. Tristan is totally out of place. He has no idea of relationships or kids, and he is completely unaware that he is courting Claire.

The character development was excellent, and I adored all of them, especially Claire's three children, Fletcher, Harry, and Patrick. Tristan and Harry's connection is very sweet. Because Harry is so opposed to Tristan and such a crazy, their interactions are hilarious.

Highly recommended!!!!

I just love this book so much.
Its one i will re read forever and still bawls my eyes out and laugh out loud

This book was thankfully better than the first! Yay! I really liked the humour and banter between Tristan and Claire. They both were in on the joke and honestly were hilarious. I liked the redemption arc of Tristan trying to get the boys to like him and Claire’s story of finding love after loss.
The only reason this isn’t a higher star review is because it seemed to drag on longer than it needed to be and I finally figured out why this authors writing drives me up the wall: she never uses “says.” It’s always “gasps” and “snaps” “screams” “smirks” (sidebar- we get it, Tristan is smug, he can stop smiling all the time). This is something we’re taught in high school to not use said and says too often and instead use other words. This is also a lie high school taught us. Using these other words instead of the basic said and says makes the writing seem dramatic and juvenile. The other thing that drove me batty was the very VERY unnecessary drama at the end of the book in the last 15%. It really was totally unwarranted and was lazy writing and frankly, deeply offensive. From someone who is a clinical psychologist (see author bio) I really expected more. What a loss.
Still a cute and funny book! Don’t think I’m going to read any more by this author, however.

Second read through: this is definitely still my favorite Miles High book! I laughed just as hard and teared up a bit more at the emotional parts this time around! I don't think I'll ever get tired of the miles brothers

Smut.

The Takeover is the second book in The Miles High Club Series by T.L. Swan.

I was so excited for Tristan's story and this was definitely entertainment. Claire is a widow and mother struggling with keeping her company afloat... Then comes along Tristan.

I laughed a lot during this book. Especially during the situationship with Claire's children and a new guy. The repeating of phrases continues in this book. This was my first single mom romance and I found it endearing.

A 3.5/5 with all my favourite tropes.
I keep rereading it at least every 4 months.
