not as good as the first one. But still amazing. & so many tears!!! Honestly, the reason it’s 4 stars isn’t because of the plot but the writing! I felt like so many phrases were repeated & it was just sort of badly edited. Whatever. Still loved it!!

I'll say this: I cried 3 times reading this book.

It really took me by surprise at how absolutely amazing it was, I knew that Tristan was a great guy when I read ''The Stopover'' but I didn't think he would be an absolute gem.

I admit it took me a bit in the beginning to get invested but that's only because I didn't know what to expect as I read NO spoilers, or anything related to this story prior to starting it.

Claire is a 38-year-old mother of three who is also a widow after losing her husband 5 years ago after a tragic accident. I was glad that Wade (the husband) was always portrayed as a stand-up guy, there were no skeletons in the closet that were revealed later on as some books tend to do during these scenarios. I understood her grief (not personally) but I understood how she looked for him in moments of sadness and sorrow. He was her partner for over 15 years? and they shared everything. The loss of him was heartbreaking which also caused her to not pursue dating or sex since his death and that is where Tristan enters....

Tristan oh Tristan, must you have been utter perfection for me? He was the main pursuer with Claire, he did everything he could possibly think about to be with her and took on her three boys as his own even after a hilarious first time run in where he was whipped with his own underpants lol

Claire and Tristan first meet months prior when he attempts to buy her out of her own media company (her husband’s creation) as it is financially struggling. She refuses and he tries to ask her out, which she again refuses. Fate would have it that these two meets at a conference months later and after a few days of denying herself she gives in and they end up in bed and spend a few days in sexual bliss. Later spending a weekend alone in Paris (as the conference was in France I think). It is all she can hope so, but it ends.

These two had a lot of chemistry and great banter. I adored Tristan and his adoration (yet confusion) as to HOW this woman who is the total opposite of who he usually dates (expensive handbags as Claire put it nicely aka women who look good on his arm). She is everything he never wanted nor looked for. She is older, a mother and a widow but all that makes him even more in love with her and honestly, I loved how he stood up to his mother (who I was shocked by her attitude after how nice she was in the first book). She kept in touch with ALL his ex-gfs and saw them/met up with them weekly even and it was just an odd thing to do.

Tristan has a hard time with the middle son but eventually they share moments that allow for a true connection to be created and I cried at the scene where they are at the cemetery visiting his father’s grave.

Honestly, the highlight of this book is Tristan (are you sick of me yet?) haha He truly made me happy with his actions and his determination to be who each of these people needed and NOT because he wanted to save them as his mother implied but because he was happy and loved everyone and this was the life he wanted. A wife he adored, three sons he was proud of.

The fight they had towards the end of the book where he announced his intentions (bigger house, marriage and adopting the boys) and Claire freaks out was heartbreaking. You could tell Claire was getting it ALL WRONG, but she was too stuck in her head to see what was in front of her and her sons thankfully pulled her out and showed her the true meaning of Tristan's actions.

I will admit what she said to him was sad, how Wade was their father and Tristan would never be. You could hear Tristan's heart breaking.

Thankfully it all works out at the end. We get a nice little ending where Tristan proposes to her on Christmas Eve (after him and the boys find an engagement ring) and she announces she is pregnant!

But wait: The best part? Tristan resigns from Miles Media and goes to become the CEO of Anderson Media with his eldest son to fix the company, bring it up to its glory and have it ready to be passed down to his sons and only coming back to Miles Media when his sons are men. *SWOON*

There is so much more going on in this book, but I don’t want recap it all as I think everyone should read it without truly knowing ALL the facts.

OW drama: A few mentions of his exes and one in particular who Claire thought he would get back with after his talk with his mother, but he announces he feels nothing for her and loves Claire. He also goes out with a girl for a few dates but in his POV he feels nothing and has done nothing. This is all before Claire and he are back together after their first break.

OM drama: I would say Wade was the OM but not in the way it usually is, but Claire does spend time thinking of him and mentioning him during the book and some people might not like that. She also goes out on a few dates with someone else in the beginning after their Paris weekend and eventually break up but it’s nothing.

Let me just start off with the fact that I absolutely hated the stopover and wasn’t a big fan of T.L Swan’s writing, but this book? Oh, this book made me want to take back everything I ever said. (I still hate Jameson and Emily’s book. It deserved 2 stars, I gave it three stars from the kindness of my heart and to be fair.. for the plot.. the plot was decent and had potential even if the couple was insufferable. Heavily side eyeing rn.)

Anyways. This book? First of all I need to stop reading books with kids being involved because I started this book off with it being a 3/4 star read, and I’m finishing it off with it being five stars because this book was EVERYTHING.
Claire said her heart came with the price of three other hearts and Tristan? That man, real man, simply said.. ‘bet.’

“Don’t you see?” he yells.
“Dad was the one who found Tristan and sent him to us.” His eyes well with tears.
”What the hell would a man like Tristan Miles
want with us . . . if Dad hadn’t arranged it in heaven?” he cries.

Now.. Patrick? An angel. Sweet boy, I smiled every time his eyes lit up with excitement or he’d prefer sitting so close to Tristan he was practically sitting on him.

Harry? Oh, god. I actually genuinely laughed through so many chapters purely because of Harry and all his evil tricks and stubbornness towards Tristan. I was genuinely giggling every other sentence.
Add the emotional scene and the fact that Tristan didn’t turn a blind eye and instead got to the bottom of his troubles and schooling issues?
God, I love them. So much.

Fletcher? Oh, that little quote above simply says it all.
Tristan took a shot on that kid and didn’t coddle him the way a mothers love usually does, and instead became not only a strict leader he had to look up to but also a friend he long lost due to the death of his father.

Age didn’t matter,
from the youngest (Patrick)
to the oldest (Fletcher)
They all needed a father figure and Tristan was so beautiful in the way he never forced it, simply became their friend, and then somehow screamed to the world ‘I love my boys.’

So, to be fair.. this book definitely deserves the five stars.

Tristan fucking Miles

So I read this with every intention if skimming through to the good bits…but from the first chapter I was sold. The banter between Tristan and Claire ran solid throughout the big and if was gold. I was always smiling and laughing to myself. My favourite chapter may just face to be 9 when Tristan meets the kids

Such a lovely story, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it was so similar to the first book (stopover), for parts of it I almost felt like I was reading the same book again. The romance is strong, there's plenty of smut, and the characters emotional development is really great too. I would recommend to anyone looking for a sweet romance.

i love love

I loved this book! It was an unexpected emotional journey and a fun read, just what I needed!

This book was perfect for what I needed in the moment. I needed cute and light but still have smut and just enough emotional aspects to make me feel something. And this book checked all the boxes. The tension between Tristan and Claire is undeniable. The dynamic he has with her kids is so freaking adorable too. And yes we add him to the list of book boyfriends/husbands. I love that the kids are grown up too, you don’t normally see that in single parent romances. The mouth that this man had is something else. He was making me blush too. This book actually made me cry a little bit cause it hit pretty close to home and I loved every moment of it.

3.8 stars!
This was such a cute and awesome read!! With all the banter and ooh the spice was steamy
