Read this as a platte cleanser it’s a good easy read but the humour in this book is too good

Take me over Tristan!

Such a great book! I laughed, cried and thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the Miles High Club series.

This book was a story about Tristan and Claire. I didn’t love Claire, but I did love how she loves Tristan. I haven’t lost a husband, so it’s hard to completely understand some of Claire’s decisions.

There were some parts of this book that were so funny that I worried I would wake my husband sleeping next to me. There were other parts that were so touching that I cried like a baby. And there were other parts that were so hot that you need relief from them.

My only critique was that the book seemed to end rather suddenly. I would have liked more time with the characters or an epilogue that was about 5-10 years in the future. I know there’s a fine line between finishing too soon and dragging on, but it felt a little unfinished. Read it and see what you think!

Overall, this is a really good book. I highly suggest you give this series a try. Happy reading y’all!!

something about this series is just so addictive like there’s a lot of things i don’t like about it but i cant stop reading it like it hooked me in good. i don’t like how slut shamey the author writes the main characters to be its so unnecessary and how she makes the main girl look better than those girls bc she doesn’t dress in reveal clothing like your clothing doesn’t determine your worth and all that ugh it’s bc the author is an older white lady so i’m not surprised but come on yk. but i did like this book something about a single parent finding love always gets me especially reading about the kids connecting w the parent’s new partner it’s so cutesies and wholesome. tbh i don’t know whether i’m tripping but the main girl doesn’t seem like a good mom to her kids like she’s been raising them well for the last 5 years on her own but when the main guy comes in and he’s doing shit that the main girl never realized about her kids yk like her middle kid’s teacher has been purposely giving her kid bad grades and mistreating him but she believes the teacher over her kid and also not realizing her youngest hasn’t been given the support for his dyslexia but the main guy who hasn’t been present in their lives for long has noticed it like i get the main girl got a dying company on her hand that she’s struggling to maintain but i’m just like damn does she not pay attention to her kids or the main guy just super observant. i really like the main guy’s relationship w the kids like it was bad at first when they met and her kids hated him bc they didn’t want her to have a partner ig and he was bitchy to the oldest son when he chose him for this internship but that changed bc he does his mean shit bc he wants to help the son grow and become better blah blah like i don’t think being a bitch is necessary for that but whatevs the kids end up loving them bc he takes time to pay attention to their interests and play into what they need and want like w the middle kid he notices that he learns that he goes visits his dad’s grave so he takes him there instead of him having to bike like he does sweet shit like that. ngl i forgot the beginning part of the book where the main couple got together as a situationship thing while main girl is in france but they had good banter and tension yk class hate to love but w the way they were talking i thought they had a big age gap but it’s only 4 years and the main girl be acting like she could be his mother like damn. idk the main girl just wasn’t my favorite in the book i get that she’s grieving her husband but it’s been years and she’s being selfish when she prioritize what she thinks her husband wants than what her kids and what she wants deep down which is the main guy and she can’t really accept him she keeps on thinking she’s a married woman and her kids are her husbands and can’t be adopted by the main guy bc that will take it away like idk i didn’t really understand her mindset that well. don’t get me wrong i like the main couple together but the main girl just be getting on my nerves. the ending was eh tho bc her kids run away to go be w the main guy bc they broke up bc he wanted to move them to a bigger house and she wasn’t ready to leave the house her husband bought them whcih i get but she snapped at him and he ended things bc of the way she treated him as he should tbh and the kids were like no we like him blah blah and she goes to pick up her kids and she’s like i miss you i love you come back i’ll do whatever you want bc life without you is hell like it was so short and anticlimactic i felt like there wasn’t a growth moment in this it was just her being overwhelmed by his absence thay she’s like ok i’ll do what he wants not her accepting that her husband is gone and she can move on it’s what he would’ve wanted. the character growth for her was mid like yeah she was able to get into dating and finding love again after years of grief but she doesn’t really fully accept it yet yk. the main guy idk i didn’t really pay attention to his growth lol but i just like him he stepped down from his own family’s company so he could take over the main girl’s so his sons have a company they could take over he’s so sweet but also he’s a douche sometimes like at the beginning but i’ll forget that. i’ll give this book a 8/10 i like it but yk just the little things bc i’m picky.

FINALLY A NONTOXIC MAN

There is no possible way that I could give this any less than 5 stars. never have I read a book that had me wheezing and crying in laughter as much as this one does. Does it speak for my type of humor? Yes. But this was hilarious. The situations these characters end up in are so perfect but so off the wall it just makes you laugh.

I truly did not think that I would be a big fan when I read the blurb. I mean the Stopover was good but would it get any better?

Spoiler alert: it did. This was so so much better than the first in the series. the character development was perfect for all characters. I am absolutely a fan of Tristan Miles and cannot wait to read more.

My only gripe is how dramatic Claire’s reactions are at the end of the book but I feel that these could be realistic and so I don’t feel like I should be complaining.

New favorite author alert???
funny lighthearted sad

Claire is a widow with 3 boys and is trying to keep her husband’s business and memory alive. She meets Tristan when he offers to buy her company and she wants nothing)g to do with him; she thinks him a cold-hearted bastard.
Jump 6 months later and they meet at a conference in Paris and have a week-long affair, but Claire can’t go further because she doesn’t believe Tristan will fit in with her life.
But little does she know that her oldest son applies to be Tristans intern and she can no longer avoid him.

This book broke me! I never cry from books but this one had me weeping.

I absolutely adore Tristan. He shows the world this cold, hard version of himself but he is really such a fun loving guy. And he is so fun! Clair and him have such amazing banter and his relationship with her kids is great (the pranks!)

I really feel for Clair. She is such a strong woman, trying to keep for family together and grieving for her husband who she deeply loved and feeling immense guilt for moving on in her life.

One of my favourite books I’ve read in a while and I can’t wait to read more from TL Swan.

I freaking love this 2nd book! It brings out all the emotions. I liked that it talks about 2nd chance in love and creating a new family. I think I have never been more satisfied in any books that I have read compared to this. It is truly a Takeover!
