I absolutely loved that this story featured a "mature" heroine. I mean, she was only late-thirties--but, for romance standards, that's mature, I guess.

Claire is a widow with three sons and a business that her husband left her. And that business is failing. Enter Tristan. His job entails purchasing failing business from people who can't fix them. And Claire isn't having it when he offers to buy her business. In fact, it's pretty much safe to say that she hates him right from the start--even if she is attracted to him.

And it's mutual--the attraction, that is.

Tristan and Claire find themselves in the same circles due to their business lives and find it pretty difficult to avoid each other. Until they decide to just have a "fun" weekend with no strings. Because Claire isn't looking for a younger man who can't commit and Tristan isn't looking for a mother--or anyone--to commit to.

These two are fire! And the story is a really sweet, lovely tale of how sometimes, you just can't help who you fall in love with.

There are things about Tristan that I just swooned over. This book also really pulled at my heart strings. However, I feel like it just ENDED. I don't think we got a proper wrap-up of all their big disagreements.
SpoilerThe book ended and I screamed, "BUT DID HE ADOPT THE BOYS!?"
My other tiny hang up was that in the first book in the series, Emily kept talking about how smiley and happy and kind Tristan always was and then we hit this book and he's a big ole yelly grump. It just made me have to re-calibrate who he was in my brain and I wish we would have seen more happy, silly Tristan. Otherwise, I really did enjoy the book and will keep reading the series!

Definitely better than the first one! Spice was just as great and storyline was less hectic but cute! Tristen is my favorite brother so far! I could’ve thrown Clair over a cliff though

This story follows Claire, the owner of Anderson Media, who took on the responsibility of running the company after her husband’s death five years ago. As a single mother of three boys, she never expected Tristan Miles from Miles Media to swoop in with an offer to buy the family business. Six months later, while attending a work conference, Claire comes face to face with the handsome yet infuriating devil himself. What could possibly go wrong?

The tension between Tristan and Claire was a constant back-and-forth. Tristan isn’t one for commitment or long-term relationships, yet his powerful presence and interactions—especially with Claire’s sons—had me laughing and falling in love with the story. Claire’s journey through grief and her resistance to change added depth to her character. She believes Tristan should be with someone else, not her, which she does deserve to be happy again.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I have to admit I preferred Jameson’s story just a bit more. That said, I’m excited to dive into the next book in the series!

The story is overall good. The writing in this book makes it so engaging to read that literally you can't put the book down. However, there are some things that didn't really satisfy my experience. The whole romance thing in this book was oddly paced. It was so fast in way that when something tragic happened, suddenly in just a snap of a finger they're in bed doing the deed. Like do you know what i meaan?? Yeah, it was oddly paced and I wanted the juicy feelings, angst, and emotions described and felt. But I didn't really get to experience that.

The book started off really low to me. I believe it was a 2/5 lmao. But as I progressively went with the story, it went from a 2 to a 3. The reason to that is that, even though the romance and the progression of the love story was more of a "meh", the interactions, the dialogue, the personality, and just the way the characters of the story conversed with each other, made the book 10x better. The comedy and the rom-com-ish vibes that I got was immaculate. The way Tristan was having intercations to Claire's kids was cute and all. **Although sometimes him 'hating' kids made it a red flag especially on the first time they met. bro was mortified by those kids** BUT LIKE LETS BE HONEST TRISTAN IS A RED FLAG. CLAIRE IS A RED FLAG. BOTH OF THEM ARE RED FLAGS

All Tristan wanted was to bed Claire since day one and I was so icked by that!! I don't know. That whole "sit down" thing wasn't cute to me. That made me feel the ick instead. LIKEEE WHAT WAS THAT BRO. The way he was acting whith Wizard was weird too. A grown ass man arguing with a little kid? But the ending made it up. Its fine, we all good now.

BUT CLAIREEE THO. The whole "you will never be wade" and the "my kids will never be your kids" was a whole bullshit. She went to go win him back and all she could say was I love you. As if that would fix it that easily girlie!! Sorry this book really got me carried away and I was so annoyed by that.

So to sum this up, the love story is a boo. But Claire's children are a 10/10 and they stole the scenes. They out-shined everything in the story. Tristan's brothers and the two other guys too omg- i cannot. So yeah anyway, that's all. I really did enjoy reading this book! I would highly recommend it to someone and for them to give it a try
