Just not feeling it. The end of the 1st book got me so excited for the 2nd book. And it just flopped for me. I found myself skipping pages of useless dialog and just couldn't do it anymore.

rating based on vibes more than what actually happened in the story. didn't care too much about the new povs but ig it was necessary for the plot.

I enjoyed getting different characters perspectives, but can we agree Ryker and Effie are boring? It was insta-love. There's really nothing with depth to Effie and Ryker was frustrating.

Also if I was the Queen, the Duke getting killed quickly would not have been satisfying. She should have used her misguided plan for Ivory on him instead.

I really liked being in Elora and Ian's heads! I'm excited about Elora's mystery man.

Wow, wow, wow! I just adore this universe that @penelopebarsetti has created.
Book 1 was amazing, book 2 was incredible. I’m can barely wait to sink into book 3 after THAT ending.

This book features POV’s from secondary characters in book 1, plus some new interesting ones. I loved reading from Ian and Ryker’s prospective plus their love interests. Effie and Elora rival Ivory for badass woman - they are all strong female characters who take no shit and are not ashamed of their sexuality. One of the things I love about @penelopebarsetti and @penelopeskyauthor books.

This book had all elements to keep you intrigued - steam, betrayal, love, magic, gore and DRAGONS. God, I loved those dragons

This series... I like the world. I think the monsters and humans political structures are interesting, several of the side characters are interesting, and we're starting to get a better look at healing magic (but not enough). I want to see how it ends and luckily the next book comes out in a week, so we'll see how that goes.

HOWEVER I'm getting really sick of the whole Huntley thinking with his
