How We Get Free: Black Feminism and the Combahee River Collective by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor

an assemblage of (her)stories following the very powerful Combahee River Collective statement. so inspiring to read how these women put black feminism into praxis, how they navigated heteropatriarchy (within both black & white spaces), how they rethought and converted feminism towards anti-racism, anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism. so beautiful, I love black women :)

A great start in exploring Black feminist thought and action. I'm diving into many of the books and ideas put forth in this slim volume.

This was an excellent read. It was educational but also gave me so much hope about the future. The hill is steep but the fight in these women inspired me.

This provides great background on the CRC and current perspectives from Black Feminist leaders on building movements for a brighter Black future. At times it felt too biographical, which is why it’s not a 5 for me.
