Im not sure what it is about Angelina that draws me to her work, or I suppose I am not sure of a singular thing.  It is wild that her play would have not only been published but also performed, even with the aside of her being a black woman in the 1920s (albiet from a well off family), however the content that  the play address feels almost early for its time in being present.
<It seems no amount of display that is the trauma and injustice which comes from lynching will change it>

Never has a play torn me up so much as this one did.

It’s so thoughtfully written and profound. It’s honestly such a gorgeous and raw play. I cried so many times while reading it, therefore I would be crying the entire time if I saw it performed.

Ground breaking and haunting. Almost too difficult to read.
