Nishas other cookbook is my current most used cookbook ever, so I knew I HAD to get my hands on this absolutely vegan food bible

Lucky enough to win a copy through American BookCentre's giveaway.

I think I will advice anyone who wants to try out plantbased cooking (or already does but wants to learn more) to just get this book.
Because, besides a lot of recipes, Nisha gives all the tips and tricks to make sure you can enhance flavours, have everything in your kitchen that you need and she provides the building blocks to then experiment further from.

For everyone who doesn't follow Nisha on her youtube channel, go follow her, RainbowPlantLife.

This is a huge, beautiful book. I was so excited to get a copy, but there's just not that much in here that I would try. Most of the recipes are for small components that you would have to put together to make a full meal. Also, most of the recipes are very time-consuming (especially when you think about putting multiple together to make a meal), and a good majority of them call for niche ingredients that I can't get at my local grocery store.

All in all, even though I have loved the all the recipes that I've tried by the author (from her blog), and even though it's pretty, this book was a flop for me because it's not inspiring me to cook. I have looked through it quite a lot and read much of the front matter, and I still haven't found anything I want to try.
informative

The way I flew through this book and have learned sooo much about cooking techniques and flavour combinations. I love how this isn't just a recipe book, even though the recipes look delicious and I have already tabbed so many.

The first section is excellent- I would read that as a book on its own.
informative slow-paced

Great resource for those interested in understanding different flavours in cooking and how to use that knowledge to improve your cooking (e.g., how do you balance something that's too spicy or sweet, bring out a certain flavour).

Also great for those interested in meal prepping --- there's a whole section on meal building blocks you can prep then mix-and-match for different meals throughout the week.
