This is only the second book by Bella Jeanisse that I have read and I have to admit she seems to get better and better with every read. Shredding Dreams is book 2 in the Velocity series, however, it can be read as a standalone. Although it would be useful to read the previous book in the series and advantages as you would become familiar with the characters and their relationship to each other, it Is not absolutely necessary in order to enjoy Shredding Dreams.

Ian isn't the typical Rockstar we read about. He's not all about the drugs and women until the perfect woman makes him see the error of his ways and all of a sudden the bad boy becomes the perfect partner. No. Ian is already married to the love of his life with children. This isn't a story about meeting for the first time and realizing this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. This is a story of has faced tragedy and adversary and come at the other side of the tunnel stronger. This is a story of a couple that after 2 yrs apart love each other even more than they did when they start. If I am to be honest, this is what I would call a deep sigh story. I fell in love with Ian with every page and every action. How could you not?

This is not to say the book was perfect. There were times while I was reading that the flow seemed to be disrupted a bit. The story would be flowing so naturally then all of a sudden it felt as if the author was trying to push through a scene. As if she had checked out for a couple pages. Then it would all of a sudden flow smoothly again. That being said, if I were to go by the characters development, the emotion, and the story itself, I would have to say this is my favorite in the series so far.

I loved Ian and Sherry’s story. I didn't want to put it down. It amazing how even being separated for 2 years two people can realize how much they mean to each other. Ian wasn't going anywhere. He was always going to be there for Sherry. Even if it meant facing things from his past. Another great book about one of the band from Velocity!
