First off all i listen to this as an audio book, so might have been 5 stars if i have read myself. But it was really good. Sometimes i got a little lost, and had to go back a little to catch up, but you also have to that with a physical book so nothing to complain about there.
This universe is just the best and all these mystery i eat up. I can’t get enough of them. Never. Stevie is such charchter and i want to know more about her already. And she needs to end up with David soon. They are so cute around eatch other. I’m already going to listen to the next book. How can i stop now

No one can convince me otherwise…I haven’t finished the series but it’s already a five-star series to me. I’m not big into mysteries (until now!) but I do love the backdrop of an academy, that will always draw me in. For some reason, starting this series, I thought it would have elements of fantasy in it (only saw raving reviews on TikTok but didn’t really look into it too much—it was on KU so I HAD to read it) and I kept going even though there wasn’t. Let me tell you, I was HOOKED by Maureen’s writing style and I just absolutely love the story line. I am an aspiring writer and her writing style is one I have been trying to emulate.

This series is cool because it doesn’t follow the typical mystery series plot formula of a whole new thing every book, but it’s more like one big book in parts, making it engaging, interesting, and builds up anticipation for the next book. It also makes these easy to fly through because it almost feels like an episode in a TV show rather than a four hour movie.
Also, I enjoyed this a lot more than the first :)
