Pleasantly surprised by this one. I didn’t like the first one at all, but was curious about the mystery, so I decided to read this one, and it was pretty fun. The reveal was kinda predictable, it was my guess since the first book, but the story developed well.

I love detective fiction because it really doesn't let you SLEEP and this books kept me up till 3am. RIP my sleep schedule.
Again, this was nothing different from the first book but a lot of things got revealed to us which made it more interesting and I loved to make notes of my own and be my own little detective in my room.
I have the same complaint about the "past" chapters where they appeared after every "present" chapter. I would have liked to see them every 3-4 chapters instead of every chapter because it did break the momentum of the story for me quite a few times.
David and Stevie are just like any other teenagers who are having a hard time dealing with their feeling and communicating. It was toxic and I loved it. I hoped to see more of them in this book but that's okay, not the worst thing. I cared more about the mystery anyway.

Truly Devious is probably my favorite YA series to date. I found the storyline very compelling and I loved the variety in characters. I'm a huge fan of the series and preordered all the following books after reading the first, truly one of the best!!
