This is the third book in Stephanie Garbers series 'Caraval'. I'm not one usually for magical/fantasy books but from the first book I was sucked into the Ledgends magical games and tricks. This book follows both of the Dragma sisters and their final adventures to try and stop the escaped Fates from the pack of cards. I was completely glued to this whole series and although Stephanie Garber wasn't planning it to be a trilogy from the beginning I am so glad I got to see more into the mysterious and magical games of Caraval

This should’ve been a standalone not a trilogy.
The fates have been released but Dante isn’t real. We got to see Tella and Scarlett’s mom for like 10 seconds. Then she vanished. This book still had the rich setting and descriptions but there just wasn’t a lot there otherwise. Tella and Scarlett alternate chapters but there’s no character development. The game element that made the first 2 worth reading was gone too. The pacing was strange too. It was just a disappointing end overall.

4.5 if the ending wasn’t so rushed this would have been an easy 5
The writing is so beautiful and the characters ugh I’m going to dive right into ouabh because this magic is MAGICAL in the best way
(obviously but spoiler warning) bc I NEED more jacks omfg the way his story ended was just frustrating and again rushed… I wish this book was an extra 100 pages just to not have such a rushed ending and a little more depth into things and I’m praying for a 4th just for a little more magic❤️
