I received a complimentary copy of 'City of Storms' from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
According to the author's afterword, this story will span over 5 or 6 books. I loved the world, the dark (but not too dark) atmosphere and the Slavic / European feel.
Marks, ley lines, cartomancy, and how the ley manifests through cards add to the excellent worldbuilding. A touch of romance, too (nothing too explicit).
The overall feel reminded me of Lee Bardugo's Grishaverse, and I can imagine the story would make a great movie/series.

Too many characters i can’t keep up with. World-building? Never heard of her. IDK WHAT’S GOING ON.

This was good! The magic system was so interesting, though it took me a while to comprehend them. And the characters were very likeable.

Entertaining. No resolution so need the later books in the series

My word. This book is free on kindle so I did not remotely expect it to be that damn good. Where is all this missing hype hiding?

I recommend this read for fans of fantasy with a strong focus on world building. The cliche YA-type title is misleading, this is worth tapping into.

Loved the worldbuilding in this one, I could almost feel the rain throughout as I followed this adventure. A refreshing adult fantasy with a lovable and broad cast of characters, I'm excited to see where things go in the next few books!
