OMG what the hell was this. Hands down one of the worst books I have read for a while! A disgrace to the real “Phantom of the Opera” story! This author literally made a shitshow of a book!
It took me ages to read it and at the end I still had to DNF it because I just couldn’t take it anymore. It was a huge waste of my time! Definitely not reading anything else written by this author ever again. This book was enough proof that she doesn’t deserve another chance with my time.

Can we just not? The cover is fabulous, but other than that the story is flat. If we are going to do a retelling of phantom of the opera let's make it a little bit more interesting than a teen "vampire" romance. Super Overrated.

Majd később lehet folytatom, az eleje nem bűvölt anno el annyira, most meg nincs kedvem hozzá… De az operaház fantomja miatt szerintem adok majd még neki egy esélyt:)
This book started so strong for me! I was absolutely loving it. But it got a little weird in the middle. Which I probably could have gotten over but after a lot of build up the ending felt rushed to me. So I guess, there was a lot I liked and a lot that was meh for me, resulting in an okay but not extraordinary read.
It took me a while to finish as I have a CRAZY work schedule. But I LOVED this book. I have read some reviews, some not liking it, some hating it. All valid points. I won't post spoilers or review the book in vivid detail because I don't think it's valid. What is valid is the feeling I had reading this book.
First, it does start off slow because there is a lot of explanation that is happening. I actually like knowing the history of a place, a character, etc, right from the beginning because it helps me to paint a picture in my mind. I was able to clearly see Roseblood Academy in my mind and I fell in love instantly. The entire aesthetic was beautiful. Rune's character was slightly unrelateable. I had a hard time connecting with her at first, but I liked the fact that I was able to know a bit about her from the start. I connected with her overall grief of losing a parent because, even though her parent passed at a young age, that pain; the imprint on one's life, never goes away and I think that helped her character.
The overall story was dark, brooding and romantic. It has an old-time gothic feel that made me feel comfy and cozy all over it. It made me happy to know that the kids in the book wouldn't be the typical media and technology driven kids, which made for a deeper connection between the characters.
I felt a mix of emotions. I, of course, rolled my eyes at a few points. Some scenes were cringe worthy (The abandoned church scene. That's all I'm saying), but what story doesn't have at least one of those? There can't be only good points. The overall feel made me want more; a LOT more.
Maybe I'm a biased fan, I don't know. I just know that when I leave a story sad that it ended.... That's all I need to rate a book a 5 star.

It was slooow, took it's time for things to happen. But the atmosphere was great.
A poorly written novel in the guise of sexual tension. ~ There were so many issues I had with this novel. I so desperately wanted to love it, the opening drew me in. Then it just kept getting worse and worse.
