adventurous

This book is good, the plot is very interesting, but the plot is really really really slow. The description of the background is really gorgeous and vivid, which means that the plot is overshadowed.
It's brilliant but also really weird.. It's so hard to make up my mind on this one.

Loved this retelling of my fav story and fav musical!!
So amazing!!

I wanted to like this book, I really did! I love the Phantom of the Opera and I loved the authors Splintered series, but I just couldn’t get into this book!

I found myself not wanting to read it, not connecting with the characters and the story really lost me when there were vampires.

I will continue to read this authors other books cause I do love some of her work, but this isn’t one of them.

I enjoyed reading it, but I wasn't nearly as invested in this story as I was with Splintered.

I'm leaving this starless until I finish my review because I just don't know.

One thing I can say is that it really did pick up at the end but I'm sad it didn't do that sooner. I think so many things weren't explained enough and others were explained too much.

Basically, I have a lot of things to think about before I write my full review.

I do really want to read Phantom of the Opera now.

As much as I enjoyed this book, it was completely ridiculous. This could have been executed so beautifully however each new thing was more and more ridiculous.

I'm a massive fan of Phantom of the Opera and I thought this would be a great twist on it and it was just ridiculous. I can't even okay. I just can't.

I adore the splintered series and after reading them and expecting a certain level of creativity, plot, setting, and character development this fell so short.

Rune has an unexplained gift for singing opera. Ever since her father's death she gets sick after singing. In an attempt to help her singing problem she is sent away to a private school in France run by her aunt. There a mysterious phantom helps fix her song. Is it the "Phantom of the Opera" or someone else? And what does he really want with Rune?
There were some interesting story ideas however, I didn't like the characters and the plot wasn't very deep.

This book read a bit like a fanfiction I would have written about the Phantom when I was a teenager. That being said, it was a super fun read, and I enjoyed it!
