I am a fan of historical romance as is and I adored this twist on it!! I really enjoyed the tension that grew better Viola and Justin. I love the fact that the 3rd act conflict had nothing to do with Viola being trans and that also wasn’t the central focus of the novel. Viola was just Viola to those who knew her past and that is exactly how it should be.

Also, I must say I loved Mira and I cannot wait for her story. I really hope we get more of her and Stevie.

This was wonderful, if a little overly long. RTC.

Pacing issues aside, this was an incredibly tender, sweet, beautiful romance. This couple had a hold on my damn heart, and I absolutely ate up the flowery proclamations of love. Plus it's got trans and disability rep in our two leads. Good shit.

Such a sweet romance! I loved Viola so much and I wanted all of the wonderful things for her! Highly recommend if you're into historical romance- or maybe even if you're not, it might be a nice foray into the genre.

An adorable historical romance. A perfectly lovely romp that did exactly what I wanted.

A beautiful romance about love having the power to change you, and also being g loved as you are.

This is incredibly well written. It is the right mix of sad and hopeful. Viola is strong and Gracewood is tender, and they fit each other perfectly. The side characters feel like good friends and family.

I think it's also worth noting that the sex scenes are very few but they're beautifully realistic. I want more talk around sex like this in books.
